RALEIGH, N.C. — It was an afternoon full of passion and sharing concerns as different religious communities came together to address what they believe is currently going morally wrong in North Carolina.
Bishop William Barber spearheaded the event, along with several other religious leaders and community members, who gathered Monday afternoon for a “Moral Monday” rally. Barber is a minister and social activist, and the movement started in North Carolina in 2013 when it was formed by different social groups and organizations who are calling out civil disobedience.
Bishop Barber announced that on Wednesday, religious leaders will be releasing a letter demanding the General Assembly call an emergency session to pass a resolution for the president and Congress to protect North Carolinians from U.S. Customs and Border Patrol raids, like the ones that caused disruptions and fear in communities last week…
