North Carolina mass shooting suspect won’t hand over mental health records, documents say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — In a motion filed on Tuesday, attorneys involved in a civil lawsuit against accused Hedingham neighborhood mass shooter Austin Thompsonsay he won’t hand over court-ordered psychiatric records and other documents.

Claudia Barcelo and Stephen Mickelsen, attorneys representing survivors and estates of five people killed that day on  Oct. 13, 2022, say Thompson, who was 15 years old at the time of the shooting, refuses to turn over discovery in the civil suit.

The motion to compel says Thompson, through his counsel, is showing “an ongoing pattern of deliberate noncompliance.”…
