New City Mulch Truck Program Begins December 1 to Beautify Raleigh Neighborhoods

On December 1, Raleigh Transportation will start its first municipal mulch truck program. The program will deliver locally recycled mulch to city right-of-way landscapes. The goal is to support beautification and sustainability in Raleigh.

A three-person crew will operate the truck. The truck can mulch about 480 landscape beds per cycle. Each load holds 45 to 50 yards of mulch, which is spread using a 300-foot blower hose. City officials expect this process to improve the appearance of streets and neighborhoods.
