ZEBULON, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman is dead after she drove off the roadway and slammed into a tree in Wake County early Tuesday morning, state troopers said.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, troopers responded around 4:27 a.m. to a single-vehicle crash on US-64 West near mile marker 438.
Investigators said the driver of a 2008 Chevrolet Extended Cab 1500 pickup truck, identified as 52-year-old Diane Ashley Watson of Middlesex, lost control on an icy bridge prior to speeding off the road and hitting the tree…
