RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Police are searching for a driver who left the scene of a crash that took out power for an extended period of time near downtown Raleigh.
An alert from the North Carolina Department of Transportation went out around 2:45 a.m. Sunday that a vehicle fire occurred on Capital Boulevard near Fairview Road, where drivers typically access Glenwood and Wade Avenue.
According to the Raleigh Police Department, officers got to the scene of a car that crashed into a power pole. However, officers told CBS 17 that the driver fled the scene.
Due to the power pole being taken out, police said Duke Energy crews remained on scene to repair the pole and a power outage was enacted…
