Vehicle crash brings down power lines in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — A portion of Wade Avenue in Raleigh was closed Thursday morning following a single-vehicle crash near Canterbury Road.

According to officers with the Raleigh Police Department, a driver crashed into a utility pole, bringing down power lines in the area. The crash was reported early Thursday morning, with crews arriving on scene around 5 a.m.

Police and utility crews were still working at the scene as of about 6:30 a.m. Power outages caused by the downed lines were reported to be minimal…
