A Youngsville man was arrested on New Year’s Day following an alleged assault involving a firearm, according to online arrest warrants.
Serhii Rudyi, 35, was taken into custody on Jan. 1 by deputies with the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office. He is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
According to the warrants, the charge stems from an incident in which Rudyi is accused of unlawfully, willfully and feloniously assaulting a person with a deadly weapon, identified in the charging documents as a Markov semi-automatic handgun.
