CLAYTON — A Clayton restaurant sustained significant damage Saturday morning after a vehicle crashed into the building just minutes before it was scheduled to open.
The incident occurred around 10:40 a.m. at Vinson’s Pub + Eatery, located at 800 E. Main Street. According to authorities, a red passenger vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed into the building.
Employees were inside the restaurant preparing for the 11 a.m. opening at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported among staff, as no one was working in the area of the building that was impacted.
The force of the collision caused major damage to the business. Vinson’s Pub + Eatery will remain closed until repairs can be completed.
The driver of the vehicle was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital by Johnston County EMS. The extent of the driver’s injuries has not been released…
