CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) — A Florida man is facing multiple felonies in connection with a burglary at a home in Chatham County on Christmas Eve, deputies said Friday.
According to the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at a home on Bennett Mountain Trace in Chapel Hill on Dec. 24. The victim told deputies that the suspect entered their garage, went inside an unlocked vehicle, and stole a wallet that had reward credit cards for Lowe’s Home Improvement and Home Depot.
An investigation determined the stolen cards were used later that morning at the Lowe’s on Fordham Boulevard in Chapel Hill and at a Home Depot in Durham. One of the cards was also used at the Lowe’s on Fayetteville Road in Durham just before 9 a.m., but the purchase was declined due to a fraud alert being triggered, according to the sheriff’s office…
