No bond for 3 women after North Carolina high-speed chase; trio already has 29 active cases, court docs say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Three women arrested following a Friday high-speed Wake County chase were involved in a felony conspiracy to steal from retail stores using Kohl’s, TJ Maxx, and Ross bags along with a magnetic “tamper” tool, according to a Wake County Sheriff’s Office arrest warrant.

The Greenville trio — all denied bond Friday after the chase that ended near Zebulon — have a total of 29 pending criminal cases among them, according to Wake County bond documents filed after Friday’s arrests. One woman is already on probation for a felony habitual larceny conviction, according to North Carolina criminal records.

The wild chase in a Dodge Journey featured two women who split the driving time — with one passenger moving into the driver’s seat while the trio sped along several Raleigh roads and area highways, deputies said.

The chase began just before 11 a.m. Friday, when a Wake County deputy spotted a Dodge Journey speeding and tried to stop the car on Interstate 40 near Interstate 87, according to a Wake County Sheriff’s Office news release…
