MORRISVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A driver died in the hospital after hitting a tree just before Sunday morning in Morrisville.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the single-vehicle crash occurred just before midnight on Pleasant Grove Road close to the Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

Troopers said the car went off the road and hit a tree. They said emergency responders took the driver to a nearby hospital for treatment, where the driver later died.
The investigating trooper said it is believed that the driver experienced a medical problem before the crash. The circumstances are still actively being investigated.
