North Carolina Teen Arrested After 100 MPH Multi-County Police Chase Involving a Stolen Vehicle

Last week, North Carolina deputies were led on a high-speed chase after police located a reported stolen vehicle. The driver of the vehicle failed to pull over during an attempted traffic stop. Police eventually caught and arrested an 18-year-old suspect after he finally stopped and attempted to flee on foot in Durham.

The 18-year-old driver reportedly reached 100 miles per hour as he led police on a pursuit. The chase took the officers onto I-40, I-885, NC-147, and the surface streets of Durham. He is accused of stealing a 2017 Kia Sorento, which he later crashed.

WRAL News helicopter Sky 5 tracked parts of the chase, including the arrest. The helicopter video showed police vehicles chasing a black SUV and two people through Durham. Near the end of the chase, the camera caught one man running through a parking lot and into the woods…
