A man was shot and killed Sunday morning by deputies in Garner after they say he challenged them with a gun, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responding to a call about 11:30 a.m. about a family member firing a gun in a home were confronted by the armed man, the sheriff’s office said Sunday evening. The man was told multiple times to put his gun down, but he challenged deputies with his weapon, authorities said.
