Wake County to close non-essential services and emergency shelter today

With snow creating hazardous road conditions across our area, Wake County will remain closed to all non-essential services through noon on Monday, Feb. 2. County leaders will evaluate conditions again tomorrow morning to determine if the closure should be extended.

Parks, libraries and solid waste services will remain closed; however, essential services including EMS, the Sheriff’s Office, emergency management and fire services will remain operational. Response times may be delayed due to dangerous driving conditions.
