Tucked away in their Youngsville backyard, Victoria and Jody Smith have grown a small creative business they call Throw and Turn. The name reflects their partnership: Victoria works the pottery wheel, while Jody focuses on woodworking.
The business combines Jody’s lifelong love of crafting with wood and Victoria’s recently discovered passion for pottery.
Victoria said her interest began after she saw an ad for a pottery class and realized she didn’t have a hobby of her own. After taking the class, she jumped in fully — purchasing a wheel, a kiln and eventually selling her handmade pieces. Her enthusiasm soon inspired Jody to get involved, too.
