Manufacturer plans to spend $160M to expand operations in four N.C. cities

GE Aerospace announced plans Monday to invest more than $1 billion in manufacturing in the United States, with $163 million planned for North Carolina.

The company plans to add 5,000 jobs across the United States with this latest round of investments. The company did not say how many of those jobs would be in North Carolina.

“Maintaining U.S. aerospace leadership requires sustained investment in our people, our facilities, and the technologies that will define the future of flight,” said H. Lawrence Culp, chairman and CEO of GE Aerospace. “This investment is for our customers, our communities, and our country.”…
