As reported by Triangle Business Journal, the coffee-and-doughnut chain is preparing an additional location in the Clayton market. Reporter Ben Tobin notes the planned site is another example of retailers hustling to keep up with a wave of new rooftops.

Johnston County, where Clayton sits, ranks among the fastest-growing counties in North Carolina, and that surge in new residents has translated into stronger demand for everyday retail. According to ABC11, recent Census data shows steep population gains, and local brokers say neighborhood services are trailing closely behind the housing starts. It is the classic growth pattern, with national chains from quick-service spots to grocers scouting parcels in and around Clayton to keep up.

Dunkin Already Has A Local Footprint

The brand is no stranger to Clayton. Dunkin’ already operates several area stores, including locations at 770 Enterprise Drive and 2627 Hwy 42 E, as listed on Dunkin’. The 2627 Hwy 42 E outparcel is marketed as a drive-thru-equipped Dunkin’, according to a LoopNet listing.
