Durham man indicted on charges after shootout with Raleigh police officers

A Durham man was formally charged with killing a Garner father of five in a suspected road rage shooting and firing at Raleigh police officers.

A Wake County grand jury handed up the indictment related to 26-year-old Solomon Thomas Owen’s shootout with a Raleigh SWAT team as the officers attempted to arrest him in connection with the shooting death of Joseph “Joey” Adams.

Owens is charged with attempted first-degree murder and assault on a law enforcement officer with a firearm for the Raleigh charges…
