CLAYTON — Clayton Police Department officers were involved in a vehicle pursuit late Wednesday after identifying a suspected stolen car within town limits.
Officers spotted a vehicle displaying dealer markings but no license plate, believed to have been taken from a dealership in the Garner area. When officers attempted to stop the car, the driver fled, prompting a chase that extended into Wake County.
The pursuit ended on East Garner Road when the vehicle struck a tree and caught fire, quickly becoming fully engulfed in flames. Officers removed the driver from the burning vehicle…
