GARNER, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman was arrested Friday in connection with an incident where a student threatened people with a weapon in February at an elementary school in Garner.
In court records documented Friday night, Gloria Yesenia Nieves, 44 of Raleigh, was charged with weapons on educational property (not a gun) for an 11-year-old being in possession of a machete (the bladed weapon GPD said) on February 25 at East Garner Elementary School.

The Garner Police Department told CBS 17 back in February that a student tried to re-enter the school after becoming “upset” during a parent meeting with school administrators. Officers said in February that East Garner Elementary went on lockdown to prevent the student and parent from getting inside.
Court documents said Nieves was also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, stating that the student committed an act of “assaulting a government employee by advancing at her with a machete knife obtained from inside of the vehicle of Gloria Nieves.” Officers said in February the student “was threatening others with a bladed weapon” in the incident…
