DigitalNC has added a new batch of materials from the Raleigh Fire Museum, giving residents a closer look at the city’s firefighting history. The collection includes film slides from 1976–1991 showing fire trucks, EMS vehicles, and firefighters in action, plus magazine clippings and ID cards from Raleigh Fire Department personnel dating back to the 1960s.
Highlights include photos by Jeff Harkey, a founding member of the Raleigh Fire Museum, and an article by Captain Shelton T. Eudy about the department’s early hazardous materials response team.
