Dead shark found on side of the road in central North Carolina

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WNCN/WGHP) — Wake Forest and North Carolina Department of Transportation Officials said a dead shark was found along the side of a road in the town on Sunday.

According to a town spokesperson, the Wake Forest Police Department responded to a call about a five-foot shark discovered dead on the side of Ligon Mill Road near Burlington Mills Road around 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

The responding officers then contacted the NCDOT to remove the animal.

The area where the shark was found is over 3 hours away from the coastline, according to Google Maps.
