A late-night fight inside a Poole Road smoke shop landed a Raleigh woman in the hospital on Tuesday, after she was pistol-whipped and grazed by a bullet, according to police.
Raleigh officers were called to the shop on the 1900 block of Poole Road just after 9 p.m., where they found a woman who had been struck in the face with a handgun during a confrontation, CBS17 reported. During the assault, the firearm discharged and a bullet grazed her chest. She was taken to a nearby hospital with what officials described as non-life-threatening injuries.

In 2024, WRAL reported that the 1900 block of Poole Road was linked to one of two unsolved hit-and-run deaths, putting the stretch back in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.
