Early Friday, Raleigh police were called out to a northeast neighborhood after someone fired into a home, leaving shell casings behind and at least one residence struck. Officers stayed on scene as the investigation unfolded, but officials have not yet shared any details about a possible suspect or motive.
According to WRAL, officers focused their work in the 4600 block of Youngsbury Court, where the station’s Breaking News Tracker spotted a large police presence. Police told WRAL they had recovered shell casings and confirmed that at least one home was hit, with the outlet describing the situation as developing and promising more updates as investigators release new information.
Another late-night call in a tense month
This latest call lands on top of a run of gunfire-related incidents in Raleigh neighborhoods in recent weeks. An overnight shooting on Putnam Road earlier this week and a May 4 incident on Rock Quarry Road have left residents on edge and prompted investigators to urge neighbors to review doorbell and dash-cam footage.
