The Ongoing Quest for Justice in the Anna Scott Case
Four years after a harrowing crime that shook the community, a significant development has emerged in the investigation. Delshay Astor faces a charge of second-degree murder in the death of Anna Scott, a member of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe. Federal authorities announced the charge in connection with Scott’s tragic death in 2022, when she was found in a burning vehicle on Interstate 580, south of Reno.
The investigation, which spanned several years and involved multiple law enforcement agencies, reached a pivotal moment with the charge against Astor. At a press conference on June 3, Chris Delzotto, FBI Special Agent in Charge, emphasized the importance of this development, stating, “Four years and four months after this horrific crime, Mr. Astor has been charged. It is our hope that this case serves as a reminder that regardless of the duration of investigations, our commitment to seeking justice for victims and their families remains unwavering.”
If found guilty, Astor could face a life sentence. Meanwhile, the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony has acknowledged that Astor is an enrolled member of their community. They have chosen to withhold further comments as the legal process unfolds.
