RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Local fire agencies are urging residents in the Truckee Meadows to stay on high alert as a Red Flag Warning remains in effect due to the threat of dry lightning.
Officials say dry lightning can occur when thunderstorms move through with limited moisture — producing lightning without the rainfall that typically follows. That combination can spark new fires, especially with dry fuels like grass and brush.
