Extreme heat sticks around for start of the weekend in northern Nevada

Triple-digit highs have been the norm here in northern Nevada throughout the past few days, and Saturday’s forecast is no different. The expected high is 101 degrees, along with mostly sunny skies and northwest winds from 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Fast forward to the afternoon, and we’ll have about a 20% chance for showers and thunderstorms in Reno from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Nevada is among the western U.S. states with active heat advisories.

Up north, an extreme heat warning is also active.

Make sure to stay in the A/C when possible, wear light-colored clothing, and drink plenty of water throughout the weekend…
