Burning Man travelers should prepare for gusty winds and possible blowing dust as they head toward Nevada’s Black Rock Desert this weekend.
Winds could gust to around 30 mph Saturday, raising the possibility of blowing dust on the playa as participants arrive, National Weather Service meteorologist Justin Collins said.
The event officially opens at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, although crews and some participants arrive earlier for setup.
