RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Containment on the Hawk Fire has reached 85%, while the Bug/Stallion Fire is at 97% contained. As firefighting efforts decrease, fire personnel are starting the recovery process.
Hawk Fire Public Information Officer Chris Buckley said this process is called suppression repair, where damage to the landscape start to get assessed and repaired while fire fighting is still underway.
“As soon as those active firefighting efforts start to die down, then we have an actual team that goes in of resource advisors that come in and make all kinds of advisements, and then there’s a whole plan that goes into fixing the landscape,” Buckley said…
