RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — The Reno Police Department (RPD) is preparing to move its traffic division away from downtown and into an existing location closer to the community.
RPD says traffic was one of the areas it identified for additional focus. The department recently designated a lieutenant specifically to oversee the traffic unit.
“Our city is very spread out,” Chief Corey Solferino said. “This provided us an opportunity to use space that we have through lease agreements and get our traffic unit out in our community where they could more easily access freeways.”…
