RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The deadline for Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue’s curbside chipping is approaching fast. The program helps residents clear wildfire hazards around their homes, also called defensible space.
The free program allows residents to pile dead, woody vegetation by the curb. Residents can put out branches, junipers, and shrubs for chipping. Smaller plants, such as grass, should be disposed of in waste bins instead.
TMFR will bring a chipper directly to the home and haul the material away…
