SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) — Washoe County is seeking community feedback as it updates the master plan for Lazy 5 Regional Park for the first time in nearly three decades.
The park’s current master plan was adopted in 1998, leaving the guiding document well past the typical 10- to 20-year update cycle as the surrounding area has rapidly expanded.
“The master plan really serves to make sure we’re meeting the current community needs and the values that they have, but also anticipating their future growth for recreation and parks within the area,” said Faye-Marie Pekar, a park planner with Washoe County. “So it’s long overdue.”…
