A magnitude 3.7 earthquake shook south Reno on Sunday afternoon, according to the Nevada Seismological Laboratory at the University of Nevada, Reno.
The brief quake struck at 4:02 p.m.
Its epicenter was less than a mile southeast of Damonte Ranch High School, and about half a mile south-southeast of the painted “D” on the hillside above the school. The quake’s depth was reported at 6.47 miles below the surface.

It was the largest in a series of earthquakes that have been rattling the Virginia Foothills in the past several days. The previous largest quake in the cluster was a 2.7 on Thursday afternoon.
The 3.7 was immediately followed by three smaller quakes, ranging from 0.7 to 0.9, in the same area.
A total of 70 quakes of at least 0.2 have shaken the area since Jan. 24, according to the Seismological Laboratory.
