LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Reno man told police that he was blacked out when he allegedly shot an officer during a struggle on the U.S. 95, according to an arrest report.
Dylan Branson, 24, of Reno faces charges of attempted murder, battery with the use of a deadly weapon, and resisting a public officer with a firearm, records showed.
On Feb. 2, just before 5 p.m., officers responded to the area of U.S. 95 and Charleston Boulevard after a report of a person walking on the highway. The person reporting said they were afraid the man, identified as Branson, would get hit by a car, police said.
The person reporting also said vehicles were swerving around Branson and that he seemed “unphased,” the report said.
Officers found Branson walking southbound on the U.S. 95 northbound lane. As LVMPD Officer Nardone attempted to approach Branson, he began running away, jumped over the center divider, and ran southbound on the U.S. 95, according to the report.
