For those unfamiliar with Knuckles, the punch-happy echidna warrior is a character from the popular Sonic the Hedgehog video game series that first debuted on the Sega Genesis console in the early 1990s.
Considered an edgier rival to Nintendo’s own mascot Mario, Sonic saw a resurgence in interest in 2020 with the release of the first Sonic the Hedgehog live-action 3D movie.
Knuckles would then make his theatrical debut two years later in the second movie, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, where he was voiced by actor Idris Elba.
