Terrible news for anyone in the area trying to improve their skillset: Career College of Northern Nevada — formerly CareerCom, formerly Apollo Business and Technical School — is currently nothing at all. Students were informed of the school’s abrupt closure late last week. The for-profit CCNN had been approaching four decades in the area, offering associate’s degrees in everything from information sciences to welding to medical assistance. Somehow the whole thing went bankrupt despite charging $26,000 a year to its full-time students. Jeffrey Meehan has more .
