Police responded to a shots-fired incident near the intersection of Plumb Lane and Harvard Way in Reno on Friday afternoon shortly before 2 p.m.
The shooting took place in a parking lot south of the Denny’s location on Plumb Lane. The number of shooters was still under investigation as of 4:30 p.m. There were no immediate reports of injuries, according to the Reno Police Department.
Police have apprehended one suspect on Wrondel Way, four blocks west of Harvard Way. The shooting appears to be gang-related, and police do not believe there is any threat to the public.
The incident took place before the school day ended at nearby Wooster High School. Washoe County School District officials said the campus went into a code-red lockdown, and conducted a controlled release of students on Friday afternoon.
