Harbor Freight taking over former Tuesday Morning store location in Reno

Harbor Freight Tools is expanding its presence in Reno-Sparks, moving into a location once occupied home goods retailer Tuesday Morning.

A remodeling permit filed on Monday with the city of Reno shows that Harbor Freight Tools will occupy retail space at 6013 S. Virginia St. The busy south Reno shopping center also includes Whole Foods, Five Below and Raising Canes.

Founded in 1977 as the Harbor Freight Salvage Co. in North Hollywood, California, the company’s retail footprint has grown to include 1,500 stores nationwide. It sells a wide range of tools online and at its brick-and-mortar stores Its products include power tools, welding machines, vehicle jacks, generators and compressors.

Harbor Freight also has stores on Kietzke Lane in Reno and East Prater Way in Sparks.

The Tuesday Morning store closed last year after the company went out of business and shuttered all its locations nationwide.
