Wildfire prevention: New BurnBot to improve forest restoration in Tahoe-Truckee region

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Fire and community resource agencies in the Tahoe-Truckee region are taking action to improve wildfire prevention. “Forest health has to be our number one goal. Because if we lose the forest, we lose everything else, said Amy Berry, the CEO of Tahoe Fund. “People aren’t recreating, people aren’t visiting, the lake is not going to be blue and people might lose their lives.” The Tahoe Fund, North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District, Tahoe Fire and Fuels Team, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation, and the Martis Fund are announcing the new BurnBot technology that will increase the pace and scale of forest restoration.
