1 dead after multi-vehicle crash on southbound US 395 at Panther Drive Monday morning

A motorcyclist died on U.S. 395 near Panther Valley after a multi-vehicle crash Monday morning, leaving several southbound lanes closed near North Virginia Street.

About 5:54 a.m., the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol officers responded a crash on southbound U.S. 395 south of Panther Drive, police said in a Monday morning release.

According to the preliminary investigation, the crash involved two vehicles: an SUV and the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

According to the Nevada Department of Transportation, multiple southbound lanes were blocked near North Virginia Street. Motorists are urged to find alternative routes, police said.

No other information has been released, pending an investigation.
