With Sparks Judge Jim Spoo retiring this year, two candidates seek to fill his seat: Deputy District Attorney Robert DeLong and criminal defense attorney Jesse Kalter.

They are running for Sparks Municipal Court’s Department 2.

The court is responsible for adjudicating traffic and criminal misdemeanor violations as well as code violations in the city of Sparks.
