Most of us who have been around a while remember those words from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical, “The Sound of Music.”. They are followed by the Von Trapp children singing, “Auf wierderseh’n, adieu to yieu and yieu and yieu!!” I also remember another famous quote but had no idea it was from a poem by Geoffrey Chaucer in 1374 until I looked it up online.
