Ghost tours in Reno, Virginia City and the Sierra during the 2024 Halloween season

Believers and skeptics alike can explore purportedly haunted cemeteries, hotels and more around Northern Nevada this Halloween season. Seeking some spine-tingling experiences? Here are a few places to check out.

Reno Ghosts, nightly: US Ghost Adventures guides participants on a one-hour, one-mile walking tour that stops by the Lake Mansion, the Washoe County Courthouse and the Levy Mansion. Admission is $26 for adults and $16 for children; children 6 and under are free. Participants can enhance the experience with an extended tour and an EMF activity detector rental. After Dark Cemetery Walking Tour, Oct. 11: A Carson City Park Ranger will lead this free walking tour through the historic Lone Mountain Cemetery, 1044 Beverly Drive in Carson City. For details, visit visitcarsoncity.com .

St. Mary’s Art Center Ghost Investigation, Oct. 12: W.I.G.S. (Women Investigating Ghost Sightings) hosts a monthly paranormal investigation of this former silver rush-era hospital at 55 R. St. in Virginia City, and this month it’s being held on Oct. 12. It’s a two-hour investigation from 8 to 10 p.m. for $45, with an additional two-hour extension available for $15 more.
