Redding man charged in recent double homicide also accused in a shooting earlier this year

One of the two men charged with murder in connection to a double homicide in south Redding last week also faces an attempted murder charge after he was accused by police in March of firing a gun at two people in a vehicle in a fast-food restaurant drive-through line.

Police in Sparks, Nevada, arrested Trevor Evanoff, 18, on Sunday for his alleged role in the south Redding shooting on Friday, Oct. 4. Evanoff was being held without bail on a charge of first-degree murder in the Washoe County Jail.

It was the second time this year that Evanoff has been arrested in connection to a shooting in Redding.

Evanoff was charged Friday with murder in Shasta County Superior Court.

But then on Monday, the district attorney’s office also charged Evanoff with attempted murder in connection to the March 21 shooting at the Jack in the Box restaurant on Cypress Avenue in Redding, according to documents filed in court.

While Evanoff was charged in the shooting last week, police do not believe he was the shooter in that incident. Witnesses told police that Andrew Greer-Herrera, 19, fired the shots that killed two Redding men early Friday morning, according to a police report on file in superior court.
