RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – A series of slides and avalanches occurred Thursday at Palisades Tahoe as a winter storm brought heavy snow to the area.
Just after noon on Thursday, an avalanche occurred in the East Gully Area. Officials with the ski resort say two people were caught in the slide, but neither was injured or buried. All guests have been accounted for, and no further rescue efforts were needed.
Then, just before 2:00 p.m., a guest-triggered avalanche occurred below The Fingers near the KT-22 Lift at Palisades Tahoe. Resort officials say one guest was partially buried and were helped out by nearby guests. No injuries were reported, and the lift has since reopened…
