Reno, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — Downtown Reno businesses experienced a significant economic boost from the Western Lights Festival last month, as approximately 60,000 people attended the three-day event. The festival featured 35 lighted sculptures and three stages of entertainment, drawing large crowds to the area.
During Western Lights down here in downtown Reno, Thursday, Friday, Saturday we were absolutely packed. Restaurants are cranking, said Mark Estee, owner of Liberty Food & Wine Exchange.
The event was free, allowing spectators to explore Virginia Street and other downtown areas. Many attendees spent money at food trucks on the Believe Plaza and at local restaurants and shops. Estee noted the festival attracted a diverse crowd, including people who hadn’t visited downtown in years…
