COLD SPRINGS, Nev. — One person is in custody after a standoff unfolded in Cold Springs after a resident reported being threatened with a deadly weapon by a neighbor. The incident began around 1:19 p.m. when the reporting party texted dispatch about the threat. Deputies responded to the scene and confirmed the crime of assault with a deadly weapon with evidence obtained at the location.
Attempts to contact the suspect at his residence were unsuccessful, prompting deputies to establish a perimeter around the home. Despite multiple attempts to communicate, the suspect remained unresponsive. As a result, the SWAT team was called to the scene to take over the investigation and assist in resolving the situation peacefully.
