RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – A Sparks mother is speaking out after a terrifying accident left her 8-year-old daughter with severe burns. Now, she is using her family’s painful experience to raise awareness about candle safety and fire prevention.

For Kesha Myles and her daughter Zoey, a Saturday night watching Moana 2 at home in Sparks took a devastating turn. When Zoey got up to use the bathroom, Kesha never imagined it would lead to a life-changing emergency. Just moments later, she heard her daughter’s screams.
