CARSON CITY, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo announced his major crime prevention bill, the so-called Safe Streets and Neighborhoods Act, during a press event Tuesday in Carson City.
The legislation makes a series of significant changes to strengthen criminal laws in the Silver State, but it comes with a serious price tag and pushback from civil rights groups worried about overincarceration.
