Families and groups looking for a more posh vacationing experience than the average Airbnb will be getting a new high-end albeit pricey rental option near Lake Tahoe.
Luxury rental provider Guesthouse is set to open the company’s first ever property — Guesthouse Lake Tahoe — this spring in downtown Truckee, California.
The idea behind Guesthouse properties is to provide an experience that combines the warmer, more comfortable feel of a home with the amenities of a boutique hotel. People staying at Guesthouse Lake Tahoe will be treated to a “bespoke retreat” experience that includes:
- A personal house captain: This dedicated staffer will be available 24/7 to manage guest needs, including meal service, itinerary planning, dog walking and groceries.
- A private chef: The chef will prepare gourmet meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner from a family-style menu.
- More food and beverage options: Light fare and meal-to-go options will be available from local businesses such as Tangerine, Trokay and Truckee Tavern & Grill. Guesthouse also provides a fully stocked selection of wine and beer. These include up to two bottles per person per night from such wineries as Hall, Scribe, Red Car and Rombauer. Additional wines also can be selected for a fee.
- Guided tours: Personal tours will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in a Rivian or Range Rover. Transportation is also included to the airport, ski resorts and other nearby destinations.
- Ski access: Each stay will include four gold passes to any Lake Tahoe resort, with the option to add up to four additional passes.
In addition to the rental home, the property also includes the nearby Titus House. The Titus House will be the location of an artisanal bakery and cafe called Guesthouse Pantry, which will open to the public in late 2025.
